I read somewhere that life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer you get to the end, the faster it goes :P

Let's see if I can update everyone.

I starred in an indie feature that filmed in San Diego in May and June. All guys on the set except for me. Interesting experience. I think I heard enough boom/penis jokes to last me a lifetime.

I filmed my first national commercial. Which of course, in truly embarrassing fashion, is for an on-line dating company. It's cheesy but not sleezy and shit, it's national so I'm excited. Links to follow so you can all laugh at me =D It's only fair.

I finally got new acting headshots. I'm hoping they'll catch some eyes and get me some work. Every little thing counts right? Pics to come I promise.

Hair is still dark brown, laser-beamed eyes are still working fine. So no more major changes this year.

Okay, I have to run, literally, my dog is howling at me that it's time for his run. But I'll be back later today. I swear it :PVictoria Vertugahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13964702502745180010noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3337796724501465589.post-88446798390375622272008-12-22T15:14:00.000-08:002008-12-22T15:20:35.331-08:002008 is almost over!!!!<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 268px; height: 400px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_j2-DNC-Mzig/SVAfmxWrKVI/AAAAAAAAAVE/8GrwwbmNbSw/s400/1661bn.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5282757113849522514" />
I can't believe it's almost Christmas! What the heck? Where did 2008 go? I swear. It went so damn fast, by far the fastest year of my life. A lot of crucial, uber important, big events happened this year too.

***I started out the year in New Zealand, on one of the most awesome, amazing, perfect vacations ever.
***I left my job from hell with the boss from hell.
***I got engaged.
***I moved from LA to SD.
***I got back into acting. I hustled hard core and modeled my ass off like a crazy woman.
***My big sister got divorced from her asshole husband.
***I got LASIK surgery! ZOMG best thing EVER!!!!!!
***I dyed my hair dark brown, something I've wanted to do since FOREVER!
***My cousin got married.

Good grief, I think that's it. Lol. Super busy year. Super interesting year.
I learned a LOT. I think the overarching theme for me personally was that life is too short to be miserable. And YOU are in control of your own destiny. You aren't resigned to living a life that others have planned out for you. You aren't resigned to living a life that doesn't satisfy you, doesn't fulfill you, doesn't make you happy. You aren't resigned to a lifetime of contacts or a hair color you don't like :P (okay, yes, that's just me LOL) You aren't resigned to staying with a person, staying at a job, staying in a city that you don't like. YOU are in control of your own life. Get out there and make some changes until you're happy. Because seriously, life is way too short.

I also learned that success is a far more relative concept than people would like you to believe. I know so many people who have "successful" careers and are just miserable, miserable people. They don't enjoy what they do. They live every day just trying to get through it. The money may be good, but that isn't enough to make them happy. Success to me is being a happy, fulfilled, GOOD individual. It's about taking risks, straying from the beaten path if that's what makes you happy, doing what is in your own heart and not letting anyone else make decisions for you. Own your passions. Follow your dreams.

God I sound like a hallmark movie of the week don't I?????? :PVictoria Vertugahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13964702502745180010noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3337796724501465589.post-57229037014812709242008-12-22T15:09:00.000-08:002008-12-22T15:14:54.529-08:00Good Grief, I've Neglected My Blog<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 267px; height: 400px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_j2-DNC-Mzig/SVAe8eKtGqI/AAAAAAAAAU8/kVvS-sfiNuI/s400/john_newhair.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5282756387144538786" />

Okay.... I've realized that almost everyone is living life in various stages of denial. Denial about themselves, their personality, how they are perceived by others, their careers, their relationships, their finances, their decisions, their choices, etc etc etc. I know we all have sore spots and things that are tough for us to admit to, but c'mon. You should KNOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! You should own up to your issues, your shortcomings, your poor decisions. You should be able to say, yes, I am......, or I did...... and that sucks, but hey.

I would MUCH MUCH MUCH rather be around someone who accepts their shortcomings, no matter how bad those shortcomings may be, then someone who acts holier than thou or who is so deep in denial land they haven't got a clue about themselves.

Just keep it real. With yourself. With other people. Life would be so much easier that way.Victoria Vertugahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13964702502745180010noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3337796724501465589.post-86388725092735722192008-10-27T14:26:00.000-07:002008-10-28T12:04:01.869-07:00People Who Just Don't Get Itdrive me bonkers. Yes. It. The proverbial "it." Whatever you want "it" to be. Whether it's sarcasm, or pop culture references (song lyrics, movie quotes, tv show quotes), whether it's basic fucking understanding of fundamental life concepts, whether it's people who use the dumbest reasoning known to man to prove their points...... all of them just Do. Not. Get. It.

A clue. They need one.

I'm Victoria Vertuga. And I approve this message.Victoria Vertugahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13964702502745180010noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3337796724501465589.post-8239422820160683642008-10-23T16:06:00.000-07:002008-10-27T13:38:33.894-07:00I can see cleaaaarly now<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_j2-DNC-Mzig/SQEJk3W-1XI/AAAAAAAAAS0/6jXyFFioER0/s320/eyeball.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5260496368685733234" />
LASIK is the best thing since sliced bread. It is so friggin awesome. Seriously. Being able to see without having to get up and put my contacts in and go through the whole hooptydoopdycrapola is just amazing.

The procedure is seriously so quick and easy and painless. Everyone had been telling me that, but I was still in AWE of how TRULY quick & easy & painless it actually was. It's over before you even have a chance to freak out about it. And the whole "going blind for a few seconds thing" isn't NEARLY as dramatic as I thought it would be. I thought it would be pitch blackness ZOMG I CAN'T SEE! It's more like when you close your eyes, and you can still make out shapes and light somewhat, and you can pretty much still see the corners of the room, just not the light you were staring at. It does smell a little bit for the 10-15 seconds that the laser is actually on, but even that isn't bad at alllllllll!

So it's basically like this:
Go in. Have your eyes checked/measured again to make sure your prescription is the same and to get super accurate readings on everything.
Take a valium. Sit and chill for a bit. Get a nifty little cap to put over your head/hair.
Go into the surgery room. Have your eyes swabbed. Have one eye covered up. Have numbing eye drops put in. Lean alllllllllllll the way back. Have your lashes and lids clipped up a little bit out of the way.
Look up into a red light. The doc talks you through things he's doing, he goes over your eye with some stuff, he tells you you're gonna feel some pressure. You feel some pressure, you "go blind" for a few secs. The red light comes back. The laser goes on. The laser goes kakakakakkakakakaka for a few seconds. You smell the "burning" a little bit. The laser goes off. The doc goes over your eyes with some stuff. He puts drops in. VOILAH. Right eye is done.
Lather. Rinse. Repeat for left eye.

SO FRIGGIN COOL!!!!!!!!!!!

So since I like to leave my mark and make things exciting and memorable, I had to have one slight thing go wrong. After the surgery, mi mami came to pick me up and we're walking outside to the car. We take about 2 steps into the bright ass sun and I start feeling dizzy. So I say, "I feel kinda dizzy." N then I take 2 more steps and it starts going black. So I say, "Mom, it's going black, is that bad?" My mom knew what was up INSTANTLY, so she starts bracing me for the faint that she knows is coming. But in my post-lasik world, all I can think is, OH NO, the procedure has gone TERRIBLY wrong, I'm going BLIND!!!! Then I guess I said something about my knees buckling, which I don't remember at all. Next thing I know, my mom is saying, "Honey, honey, can you stand up now?" And I'm thinking, stand up? I am standing up? Wait, omg, I can see. OHHHH. I had LASIK! How cool!!!! Wait, why am I on the ground? Did I pass out? What's going on?" My mom said I was out for a good 2 minutes or so.

A nice little man saw the commotion and ran back into the Dr's office to tell them that one of their patients fainted outside. Then my mom ushers me off into the shade to a bench where I can sit with my head between my legs. Then the doctor's staff rushes out with water and a bag of goldfish. They keep telling me that since I'm "so petite" (GAWD I hate that phrase) that 5mg of valium probably made me faint, and I should get more food in my system. So I'm sitting there drinking water and eating goldfish. Then they take me back inside just to check that I didn't fuck my eyes up on the way down (lol). The doc is like, are you okay? Well, actually, all I care about is your eyes! Good times. Then we try it again and I actually make it to the car. It was kinda hilarious. They called later on to make sure I was okay. Then when I went back in for my check up everyone kept calling me the fainting girl. *sigh* It's not like I did that shit on purpose. And now, for my next scene, a dramatic faint *falls to the ground* LOL. OH well. At least they'll remember me.Victoria Vertugahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13964702502745180010noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3337796724501465589.post-52475277529536738522008-10-16T14:01:00.001-07:002008-10-23T16:33:52.350-07:00I'm a Brunette Now<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 256px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_j2-DNC-Mzig/SQEJ3BxcgVI/AAAAAAAAAS8/IzPRvCSsy3Q/s320/dvd2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5260496680718729554" />
So I FINALLY had my hair dyed dark brown yesterday. I've always, always, always wanted dark hair. The grass is always greener, what can I say. I'd gladly exchange my natural golden blond hair with a brunette :P

The change isn't as drastic as I thought it would be. I mean... it's drastic, but I still look like me. I'm not sure what I was expecting. I think I'm so used to how different I look going from straight to curly and wearing wigs for photoshoots and all that jazz that I'm not even phased anymore by how different I can look.

I'll post a snapshot soon. I can't wait for my first photoshoot with dark hair. It's looking like it might be HEDONIST :P I can't friggin wait!Victoria Vertugahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13964702502745180010noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3337796724501465589.post-46903490093633867982008-10-13T10:03:00.000-07:002008-10-13T10:09:04.332-07:00LASIKMy surgery is this Friday! I'm so damn excited!!!!! And...a little nervous =D I have to wear glasses the week leading up to the surgery, no contacts allowed. And of course, I totally forgot that I didn't actually HAVE any glasses with my current prescription since I am STRICTLY a contact lens wearer I thought I could just tough it out with my ancient frames from when I was 16 and first found out I needed glasses/contacts.

Turned out, that was a very, very bad idea. The old glasses were making my eyes water, I couldn't see for crap, and, uh, they were also really, really ugly. LOL. So I took my ass to Lenscrafters and got a new pair that I can actually see out of. Thank you Lenscrafters for your "ready in an hour" guarantee.

I am SO not used to glasses at all. They start hurting behind my ears after about an hour or so. I hate how if you look up, its blurry. You look down, it's blurry. You look to the sides, it's blurry. And I'm constantly aware that there is SOMETHING ON MY FACE! *gasp* LOL. At my shoots this weekend I had to take them off to have hair and make up done, and I am so damn blind without them. Especially at Will & Ransom's, they were showing me pictures and shit and I had to be ALL UP IN THE COMPUTER SCREEN to see anything. They were talking about how fly Brenna's make up was and I was like, homegirl, do you mind if I get all up in your face for a minute so I can actually see it? LOL. Driving me NUTS! But it'll make being able to see after LASIK that much more awesome.

The funny thing is, I've been getting madd compliments all weekend on the glasses. At my shoots, at my cousin's bridal shower yesterday, at the grocery store. "Your glasses are SO CUTE!!!!!!!!" LOL. Well, at least they're pathetic week of life is being well appreciated by strangers.

=D

4 More Days!!!!!!Victoria Vertugahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13964702502745180010noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3337796724501465589.post-72114210921979048582008-10-07T09:41:00.000-07:002008-10-07T09:43:30.038-07:00Aquarius<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_j2-DNC-Mzig/SOuRraOxyFI/AAAAAAAAASs/9VP7Rln12mc/s320/10910013.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5254453565219522642" />
There were all these sign threads on MM today. I've looked at the traits/characteristics of my sign a lot, but this one article was so dead on I had to post it. I am SUCH an Aquarius.

Aquarius About Your Sign...

Aquarians basically possess strong and attractive personalities. They fall into two principle types: one shy, sensitive, gentle and patient; the other exuberant, lively and exhibitionist, sometimes hiding the considerable depths of their character under a cloak of frivolity. Both types are strong willed and forceful in their different ways and have strong convictions, though as they seek truth above all things, they are usually honest enough to change their opinions, however firmly held, if evidence comes to light which persuades them that they have been mistaken. They have a breadth of vision that brings diverse factors into a whole, and can see both sides of an argument without shilly-shallying as to which side to take. Consequently they are unprejudiced and tolerant of other points of view. This is because they can see the validity of the argument, even if they do not accept it themselves. They obey the Quaker exhortation to "Be open to truth, from whatever source it comes," and are prepared to learn from everyone.

Both types are humane, frank, serious minded, genial, refined, sometimes ethereal, and idealistic, though this last quality is tempered with a sensible practicality. They are quick, active and persevering without being self-assertive, and express themselves with reason, moderation and sometimes, a dry humor.

They are nearly always intelligent, concise, clear and logical. Many are strongly imaginative and psychically intuitive, so that the Age of Aquarius, which is about to begin, is much anticipated by psychic circles as an age in which mankind will experience a great spiritual awakening. The Aquarian philosophical and spiritual bent may be dangerous in that it can drive the subjects into an ivory-tower existence where they meditate on abstractions that bear little relevance to life. On the other hand it can help the many who have scientific leanings to combine these with the Aquarian yearning for the universal recognition of the brotherhood of man, and to embark on scientific research to fulfill their philanthropic ideals of benefiting mankind. When some cause or work of this nature inspires them, they are capable of such devotion to it that they may drive themselves to the point of exhaustion and even risk injuring their health.

Both types need to retire from the world at times and to become temporary loners. They appreciate opportunities for meditation or, if they are religious, of retreats. Even in company they are fiercely independent, refusing to follow the crowd. They dislike interference by others, however helpfully intended, and will accept it only on their own terms. Normally they have good taste in drama, music and art, and are also gifted in the arts, especially drama.

In spite of the often intensely magnetic, forthcoming and open personality of the more extrovert kind of Aquarian, and of their desire to help humanity, neither type makes friends easily. They sometimes appear to condescend to others and take too little trouble to cultivate the acquaintance of people who do not particularly appeal to them.

They do not give themselves easily - perhaps their judgment of human nature is too good for that - and are sometimes accounted cold. But once they decide that someone is worthy of their friendship or love, they can exert an almost hypnotic and irresistible mental attraction on them and will themselves become tenacious friends or lovers, ready to sacrifice everything for their partners and be faithful to them for life. However, they are sometimes disappointed emotionally because their own high personal ideals cause them to demand more of others than is reasonable. And if they are deceived their anger is terrible. If disillusioned, they do not forgive.

Aquarians work best in group projects, provided that they are recognized as having a leading part in them. They have a feeling of unity with nature and a desire for knowledge and truth that makes them admirable scientists, especially astronomers and natural historians. They may excel in photography, radiography, electronics - anything connected with the electrical and radio industries - aviation and everything technical. On the arts and humanities side their progressive tendencies can be expressed in writing, especially poetry, and broadcasting, or as welfare workers and teachers. Some have gifts as entertainers and make good character actors (having an ability to mimic) and musicians. The more psychic among them possess healing gifts, especially in curing the mentally sick.

Among the faults to which they are liable are fanatical eccentricity, wayward egotism, excessive detachment and an inclination to retreat from life and society, and a tendency to be extremely dogmatic in their opinions. Aquarians can be a threat to all they survey or a great boon for humanity in general. Circumstances - for example, continuous opposition to a cause they hold dear - may cause the atrophy of the openness of mind that is one of the Aquarian's most attractive traits. They may express a lack of integrity in broken promises, secretiveness or cunning. Simmering anger and resentment, rudeness or, worse, a tense, threatening silence which may suddenly burst out in eruptions of extreme temper, these are all part of the negative side of the Aquarian. This can also reveal itself in a sustained hatred for enemies that is capable of enlarging itself into a misanthropy toward the whole of mankind.

Possible Health Concerns...
As Aquarius is said to govern the legs from knees to ankles and the circulation of blood, its natives are susceptible to ailments particularly in the legs and ankles, such as cramps, and are also liable to spasmodic and nervous complaints, as well as wind, catarrh, diarrhea, dropsy, goiter and delirium tremens - so that the avoidance of alcohol is important for those Aquarians who have a taste for it.Victoria Vertugahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13964702502745180010noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3337796724501465589.post-80144745940359426632008-10-06T14:12:00.001-07:002008-10-06T14:17:20.315-07:00Where did Summer go?<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_j2-DNC-Mzig/SOqATTL87SI/AAAAAAAAASk/gr7EGNzH72Y/s320/10890031.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5254152984337378594" />
The days are getting shorter and summer is over :(

This summer zipped by so fast it's ridiculous! Good lord. October? Already? Really????? I can't believe how fast it all went. It seems like if I blink twice it'll be 2009!

A lot of stuff coming up soon!

Oct 17th-- LASIK! I'm super excited and a little nervous. I have to wear glasses (eek!) for the week prior to the surgery. I don't even know if I still have glasses LOL. I've always been a contact person since I needed them. And then after I can't wear eye make up or work out for a week. And then, life as normal. I am SO excited to not have to deal with eye allergies and things getting in my contacts and not being able to see shit when I wake up! w00t!

Nov 8th-- My cousin's super fast wedding. She decided she was having it Nov 8th only 6 weeks before the actual date. Insanity! I'm a bridesmaid (oh joy) so I have to shell out a shitload of $$ on a bunch of crapola, but at least the dresses we're wearing are actually cute. AMAZING right? And I'm SUPER looking forward to seeing my big ole crazy italiana family for a few days. So YAY for that.

I'm waiting on pictures from like 5 (what I thought were) really really good shoots. I can't WAIT to get the pix back. I'm foaming at the mouth with anticipation. And hopefully I'll have some really great shoots set up for the end of the year.Victoria Vertugahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13964702502745180010noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3337796724501465589.post-44989893716233239382008-09-22T09:40:00.001-07:002008-09-22T09:43:40.540-07:00New York New York<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_j2-DNC-Mzig/SNfLLpBfcnI/AAAAAAAAASc/4xFfHfPKIHs/s320/10890008.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5248887291574710898" />
So I'm off to Nuevo York this Friday! I can't wait =D I have some great shoots lined up, some paid shoots lined up, and if I have any free time at all, I'm gonna take my ass shopping!!!!! I love NY in the spring and all the fall and I can't wait to get my NY fix of bagels, pizza, and hot dogs. I had not one, but TWO fantasticly fun shoots--- With Brian Kucera and Trish (Trashy T Modelography). Shoots like that are the reason I started modeling in the first place. There's something so special about working with a person who is creative, talented, AND fun as hell. I love it when you just vibe. I can't wait to see the pics!!!!!!!

And then the first home game of the season for USC against Ohio state. That game was so damn fun (for Trojan fans that is). My mom is an Ohio State alumnus, so is my Uncle, so there was all kinds of playful banter leading up to the game. =D Goooood times. Our seats are up higher but over one section from last year. I was worried that they'd suck, but they actually turned out to be pretty good. And half of the same people from last year are sitting near us again... We were like HEYYYYYY, we remember you!!!

College football games always make me super nostalgic for college because football was such a quintessential part of my college experience. I so wish I could go back and do 4 years of undergrad again. Except this time I would be a totally irresponsible student. I wouldn't work. I wouldn't intern. I would just have fun and do what "most" college kids do: party. LOL.Victoria Vertugahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13964702502745180010noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3337796724501465589.post-52848040902488557982008-09-03T10:10:00.002-07:002008-09-03T10:18:00.554-07:00Love our furry and feathered friends? Then (if you're in CALI) vote YES on Prop 2!

=D

http://ballotpedia.org/wiki/index.php?title=California_Proposition_2_(2008)

^That's a really good site that goes over the pros and cons.

But basically, it makes sure that farm animals like cows and pigs and chickens have humane living conditions and aren't abused. It was my homegirl from high school's bday, so, since our lives revolve around EATING, we made dinner reservations =D. We decided to try somewhere new to spice it up, so we went to this place called the Whisn'n'Ladle that's supposed to be cute and trendy and "green" but with yummy food....Yes. Interesting combo. They had some funky stuff on the menu, like "poor man's caviar" which is bone marrow that comes served inside the bone and with toast. I passed on that. LOL. But everything that I DID try was super yummy. We were dressed up all super cute. Yup. If IIIIIIII had a dress on, then you KNOW everyone else looked cute, since I wear dresses about 4-5 times a year (not counting photoshoots).

So we're there, laughing up a storm, being loud and rambunctious and having a good ole' time, and all the waitstaff is being super friendly and chopping it up with us. And the way the restaurant is set up, there's only a glass wall separating the seating area from the kitchen so you can see into the kitchen. And so I'm noticing the one chef is kinda cute. And my sister is newly single and could use some dater-types, so I ask the girls if they think the chef is cute. So they all agree, very cute. So then one of the waiters sees us checkin' out the Chef and makes a comment. I tell him we're trying to hook someone up. He asks if she's as cute as the rest of us, and I say it's my big sister, which seemed to make him happy. LOL. And then my best friend says to him in a super serious voice with the best expression EVER on her face......"does the chef like........(dramatic pause) BOOTY?" Cuz my sister has a big ole butt. So our waiter friend says, okay, let's pretend you ladies and me are old friends. Give me your names, act like we're super chummy, and I'll take you back before you leave to introduce you to the chef. So we finish our dinner, he gets a refresher on our names, and takes us back there. I get the chefs # for my sister, find out hes free Tuesday/Wednesday nights, and we leave =D Hilarity. Turns out she happened to meet a French Chef earlier that day when she was getting her nails done. Apparently, chefs are everywhere LOL.

So after dinner we headed to get frozen yogurt at Yogurt World. There was a DJ there spinning, and tell me why he was better than like 90% of the DJ's at clubs? Hilarity. Then we went to take Japanese Sticker Pictures. So fucking hilarious. If they were bigger I'd scan them cuz oh man, they're awesome. And then we did Kareoke. Oh boy. Do we know how to party or what?

<<<<<<<<<<<Fast forward to the FOLLOWING evening, and we're taking my family friend out. She's been visiting for a while and we haven't really "gone out gone out" with her yet, so we figured we'd hit up the gaslamp. We're on the VIP list at On Broadway so we head there, wait in line, and when we get to the front of the line the dudes checking ID's had SERIOUS egos. They make me AND my best friend "smile" at them, as if we look at ALL different from our fuckin ID's, and then have us spell our last names. WTF? Then they spend 30 minutes flicking, bending, and scrutinizing our IDs. I swear. The AIRPORT doesn't do all the shit those fools were doing. Then, they wouldn't let my German friend in, who is THIRTY FIVE btw, not 21, 22, 23, 24, no, THIRTY FIVE, because she had her official European ID and not a passport. Soooooooo that was fun. We decide to head to PB in case those clubs are a little more lenient. So we get to PB, check a bunch of places, and its the same story. No one will accept her ID. At least the guys in PB were super nice about it. Soooo after many failed attempts to get into a club, its about 12:30, we're bummed and annoyed. By the time we go home to get her passport, everything will be close to shutting down and it won't even be worth it. So this dude whose on the way into the club with his friends sees us standing there looking dejected. He says, damn ladies, are you guys done with the night or what? You look like you all are DONE. We proceed to tell him the story and my crazy cousin proceeds to flirt with him, and turns out, this guy is absolutely HILARIOUS. I mean hilarious. He's super cool and cute in a chummy chummy homie way. And he's only 22. Well, he tells us that we can't let the night be a total dud. Apparently, he has a cooler of coronas in the trunk of his car, so since we can't get INTO the club, and since his friends abandoned him with 6 hot chicks (fuckin idiots) we agree to go with him to the car and parkin lot pimp it with some coronas. So we all pile into his friend's honda accord. My cousin proceeds to open the beers with the seatbelt, and we laugh, talk, and sip coronas in the fuckin car in a parking lot in PB. ABSOLUTELY hilarious. Too bad we had more fun doing that then we would have had IN the actual club. Then when the club is letting out we head back over with him, meet his friends, get hit on by a bunch of typical over aggressive drunk idiots, and head back to the car. He walks up to the car as we're driving away and gives my best friend (whose driving) a kiss on the cheek. Then he goes into give my cousin (who'd been flirting with him all night) a kiss on the cheek, and suddenly, its a REAL kiss. A ZOMG hollywood movie kiss. And we're all going YOWWWWWWWWWWW in the car. And then we drive away.

GOOD times baby. Good times.Victoria Vertugahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13964702502745180010noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3337796724501465589.post-88597676990340822512008-08-29T12:59:00.001-07:002008-09-03T09:34:07.061-07:00My Dog Got Skunked<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_j2-DNC-Mzig/SL68dqDe3AI/AAAAAAAAARg/lH8EmcDXcBE/s320/simba.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5241834233996958722" />
Right in the face. Poor puppy. He was foaming and frothing at the mouth and he kept shaking his head like that would get rid of the horrible stench. We had to pick up this "skunk off" stuff from the vet, but it didn't really do the trick. One of my mom's friends said that baking powder and vinegar works, so we tried that and it seemed to help a lot.

Which lead me to have a discussion with my boyfriend about skunks, and he says he has NEVER seen or smelled a skunk ever. His excuse is he's an LA boy, born and raised. I call shenanigans on that. There is roadkill skunk everywhere, and it smells. So we had this argument, and now, we're seeing roadkill skunk all over the place. Which means I win =D

Our random arguments are so silly but so hilarious. This weekend we were arguing about the "I'm A Little Teapot" song. NO idea how it even came up. I mean really, what grown ass people in their 20's talk about that song???? :)

But yes. I said the lyrics go like this:
I'm a little teapot, short and stout
Here is my handle, here is my spout
When I get all steamed up then I shout
JUST tip, me over and pour me out!

He said there's no just. So we decided how we would settle the argument. Look it up on Wikipedia, and then the first google site that comes up. If they say different things, then go to the next google site that comes up and 2/3 wins. I won that one too =DVictoria Vertugahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13964702502745180010noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3337796724501465589.post-47277800653353037922008-08-26T15:53:00.000-07:002008-08-26T15:57:26.164-07:00Hot Yoga<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_j2-DNC-Mzig/SLSJ8YPLQjI/AAAAAAAAAK0/5JFIS-1hpuQ/s320/ransom4crop.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5238963936929989170" />
is fucking hot. I know I know, but really. Its 106+ degrees in the room. My sister has been doing it for months now and LOVES it, so she finally convinced me to go with her. I hate the heat. I mean DESPISE the heat. So part of me really didn't think I would survive. But I did! I didn't even have to leave the room or go to child's pose because I needed a break or anything. w00t for me =D

I can see myself MAYBE doing it once a week or so, but not 4-5 times a week like her. Nuh uh. I'd have to buy an entire new work out wardrobe and do a shitload of laundry cuz you are DRENCHED by the end of it. DRENCHED.

The smell of funk is subtle but noticeable when you first enter the room. It bugged me for about the first 10 minutes and then seemed to get less noticeable, probably cuz my ass got more funky. :P It's relaxing and probably really good for you so yeah.... Oh well. I did it. Yay for me.Victoria Vertugahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13964702502745180010noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3337796724501465589.post-45259024732280562782008-08-07T16:42:00.001-07:002008-08-07T16:42:53.270-07:00Ice Cube's New Video- Gangster Rap Made Me Do Ithttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzeZhCt5PVA

Madd Props to Ice Cube. I've had a super bad case of "the antsy" all week at work. Blargh!!!! I hate that. I feel like an ADD kid who forgot to take his Ridlin and can't focus worth a damn.

In other news, my sister decided to delve into super healthy eating and give up sugar. I mean completely give up sugar. None. Ever. I laugh at her as I eat my cookies =D. I say, everything in moderation baby. And besides, the world doesn't want to be around me when I'm hungry or can't eat what I want. God knew this, and as such, gave me a super fast metabolism. <3!!! He's a smart one that God =D Thank goodness.

I'm off to VEGAS this weekend and am super duper excited!!!!!! I'm driving myself out there, so um... not so excited about the drive. It'll be the longest drive I've actually DRIVEN myself. But I figure, I've been stuck in some hellacious traffic in LA or on my trips from SD to LA and vice versa, sooooooo I should be okay. Besides that, I have my snazzzzzzzzy new bluetooth hooked up through my car so I'll be bugging everyone whose at all entertaining. =D And my best friend is letting me borrow her GPS so I won't get my ass lost. Yay for that!!!! I really need to buy myself one. It'll make all the driving to random ass places for castings and shoots SO much easier. Plus if I start doing private tutoring for the kiddies, I'll have to drive to people's homes, so it'll make that easier too. Look at me trying to rationalize my desire of a GPS. It's a fuckin cool ass gadget and I want one damnit. And that's all there is to it. Yes. A GPS is in my future.

So I did some research and found out that one of the Community Colleges down here in SD actually has some digital recording/recording arts classes. w00t! So I "applied" and figured out which ones I'm gonna take in the fall. Hopefully they'll be good and teach me more then the BS ones I took at USC. *ponders this* If some $40 classes at Mira Costa College turn out to be better then the ones I took at FUCKING USC, that seems so wrong. But oh well. I just need to learn to use pro tools and all the plug ins to make beats so I can do the music part of my "music" as well. Relying on producers and co-writers is a serious pain in my left buttcheek. SRSLY. Uber annoying. So yeah, hopefully the classes will be worthwhile. Either way, I'm excited about them. Yay digital audio recording arts classes. YAY for being able to work on my songwriting demos. I'm super antsy to start focusing on my songwriting again. There are never enough hours in the day to do all the things you HAVE to do and all the things you WANT to do. Damn bills and money and all that jazz.

Okay, to be continued =DVictoria Vertugahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13964702502745180010noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3337796724501465589.post-53775718714915107822008-07-30T10:41:00.001-07:002008-07-30T10:51:36.963-07:00Joe Beezie!!!!!!!!!!Okay I've been a huge Joe Budden fan for the past few years. His depressing music is so damn on point. And his lyrical skills, just ZOMG. So Fuckin Tight. My friend sent me these links yesterday, Joe rapping about what's wrong with the current state of hip hop. Fuckin off the hook. <3 Joe Budden. If you don't have the Mood Music mix tapes, you gotta cop those. Immediately if not before =D

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=teQC0rKl884

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOxhFgoxwtEVictoria Vertugahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13964702502745180010noreply@blogger.com0
